A foreigner from France, Camille Gabriele (25) admitted that he almost became a victim of harassment on Mount Bromo. Cam shared his story until it went viral on social media. It turned out that the perpetrator was a motorbike taxi driver in the area.
This was expressed by the Head of Ngadisari Village, Sukapura District, Probolinggo, Sunaryono. He confirmed the story told by Cam.

“The incident occurred on the evening of January 5 2024, around 23.00 WIB,” said Sunaryono, Tuesday (13/2/2024).

Sunaryono then told the story of the perpetrator. He said the perpetrators were residents.
“The motorbike taxi driver is a resident of Ngadisari Village,” he added.
“Then, he asked if he could sit in the tent and chat. I wasn’t actually comfortable with that, but I couldn’t help it because he was so nice to me (a stupid girl, yes I know). But before that, I told him from beginning: I’m going to sleep in a tent alone tonight and that guy is fine,” he said.
After some time, Cam asked the man to leave the tent, because the French girl wanted to sleep. But, the man actually said, Cam could just sleep while he was in the tent. Of course, the girl refused!
“I asked several times, but he refused to leave. I got angry and he finally left the tent, but refused to go home. And, it only got worse,” added Cam.
Cam said the man then asked for a kiss for a minute, several times. He even said he would give Cam money, as long as he kissed the man.
“After some time, the man finally said, “Give me IDR 100,000.” Not getting an answer from Cam, the man said again, “Okay, just IDR 50,000 and I’ll leave,” said Cam.
Meanwhile, Cam quickly tidied up the tent, packed the contents of his bag and immediately left. Meanwhile, the man said, “Wait here, I’ll bring my friends.”
Cam immediately ran and ran as fast as lightning to the nearest homestay. There, he asked for help. Using Google Translate, he said there was a man following him and whether there was a room where he could stay.
The homestay people Cam met immediately helped the girl. They gave Cam a free homestay room to stay in, even called the village head to make him feel safe.
