LAS VEGAS — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced new product and partnership milestones that reimagine travel and expense management experiences and offer new capabilities powered by generative AI.

These announcements were made at SAP Concur Fusion 2024, the flagship conference for SAP Concur users and experts, from March 19-21 in Las Vegas.

AI is only as good as the quality and breadth of the data it draws upon. SAP Concur is one of the global market leaders in travel and expense solutions with more than 92 million end users booking travel and/or processing expenses.

SAP debuted new business AI capabilities in SAP Concur solutions to help customers save time and improve accuracy when managing business travel and expenses:

• Concur Request: Now uses generative AI to provide intelligent cost estimates for trip planning.
• ExpenseIt solution: Customers can upload receipt images to ExpenseIt web, where it taps AI to automatically create a new expense with several prepopulated key fields. Plus, ExpenseIt now items hotel folios using generative AI.
• Generative AI search: A new capability within Concur Support allows SAP Concur customers to type questions in natural language and get

Viral in cyberspace, a video of a passenger slapping an airport officer. Apparently, he became angry after realizing the officers had smuggled drugs into his luggage.

Reported Nigerian Ripples, Sunday (21/1/2024) the passenger’s anger was caught on video and went viral. The action was recorded at Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. A passenger was seen slapping a man.

The staff was caught on hidden camera trying to put something into a passenger’s luggage. It is believed that this object is an illegal drug, aka narcotics.

“Tell me what this drug contains,” said the passenger, slapping the man. You can see him kneeling in front of this angry passenger.

Responding to the viral video, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said that the man captured in the viral video is not a staff member of the agency. According to a statement issued by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, it was confirmed that the incident occurred at Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Tuesday (16/1/2024) at around 14.30 local time.

The flight booking company Alternative Airlines has offered advice on whether it is worth upgrading tourists to a Premium Economy seat.

A spokesperson for Alternative Airlines noted that these seats are typically somewhat more comfortable and give passengers a better service on board.

They explained: “Because comfort is such a big priority for many travelers, some airlines offer Premium Economy as a separate seating class to Economy, usually with a greater service and space.

“Not all airlines offer Premium Economy – it is usually found on international flights. Airlines are increasingly offering Premium Economy, but the question is, is the increased fare worth the upgrade?”

Alternative Airlines highlighted that the differences between Economy and Premium Economy will differ for separate airline companies.

However, the majority feature wider seats that have a slightly larger amount of legroom, and a curtain which can be drawn for extra privacy during the flight.

Delays have hit multiple Tube lines on the Underground during rush hour on Friday night.

The Victoria line is facing delays after a fire scare at Seven Sisters.

The London Fire Brigade was called to reports of smoke coming from the tracks at the north London Tube station but they did not find anything.

This left the line part suspended from King’s Cross St Pancras to Walthamstow Central on Friday afternoon but this stretch is now running again.

The Hammersmith and City line is also experiencing major delays due to a shortage of trains.

Meanwhile, disruption has hit the Central, Circle, Bakerloo and Metropolitan lines, along with the Overground and the DLR.

Severe delays on Victoria Line

It’s bad news this morning for those using the Victoria Line, who are experiencing severe delays due to the late finishing of engineering works.

TfL says there are also minor delays on the Central Line due to the ongoing train shortage, but there is a good service on the rest of the Underground network.

The Lufthansa Group has reported more than a million passengers purchased its new Green Fares in the first 12 months of them being made available across its European network.

The figure equates to around three per cent of passengers who were able to book the fare type, which is currently available on Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, Edelweiss, Discover Airlines and Air Dolomiti on flights within Europe as well as to Morocco , Algeria and Tunisia.

The airline group revealed Green Fares were selected for 11 per cent of Business Class bookings via its own portals and the routes where the fare type is most popular are Hamburg-Munich, Zurich-London and Frankfurt-Berlin. Since 7 September 2023, SWISS services between Zurich and Geneva have been exclusively sold as Green Fares.

“Demand continues to rise steadily in all booking classes, underlining the success of the more sustainable fare,” the group said in a statement.

The fares, which are also currently being piloted on select long-haul services to the US and Asia, include a price component for offsetting the carbon emissions associated with the passenger’s flight via a combination of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) purchases and contributions to “ high-quality” climate protection projects.

A foreigner from France, Camille Gabriele (25) admitted that he almost became a victim of harassment on Mount Bromo. Cam shared his story until it went viral on social media. It turned out that the perpetrator was a motorbike taxi driver in the area.
