The closure of tourist climbing at the Ijen Crater only lasted a few days. Not even a week has passed, the East Java KSDA Center has reopened this weekend.
Precisely on Saturday, January 6 2024, Ijen Crater can be climbed by travelers. However, there are new requirements that must be met.
“The following are the latest requirements for tourist visitors to the Ijen Crater Nature Tourism Park (TWA) conservation area which will be implemented starting January 6 2024,” said the East Java Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA), quoted Thursday (4/1/2024) from its official Instagram.

There are several highlights in the terms and conditions for the latest 2024 tourist climb to the Ijen Crater. Travelers criticize the first and second points which are considered burdensome.
“This TWA won a lot, if there was no insurance on the ticket,” said one traveler.
“Recently around Ijen there was an impromptu pharmacy for health certificates hahaha,” said another.
“Can anyone explain why there is no insurance on tickets and if an accident occurs it is not BBKSDA’s responsibility?” asked another.
